Bands @ the Boot 2009

After the runaway success of last year’s free mini music festival at The Boot and Shoe, Bands @ the Boot makes a long awaited return this August.  Check out the great line up and even better – there’s no need to bring your tent!

Friday 28th August

From 8.00pm -10:00pm - Can you believe it Inuendo are reforming especially for us, for one night only!!! These local lads have over 10 years gigging experience and are well known for ‘packing out’ venues with their infectious set of modern and old classics with an added “Inuendo twist”.  Don’t miss it, you’ll not get another chance to hear the guys again.

Saturday 29th August

From 3.30pm – 5:30pm - Orli Nyles + DB3, featuring the talents of Manchester-based singer/pianist Orli Nyles, recently seen on TV in the Chris Moyles House Band! Performing Orli Nyles originals and arrangements by saxophonist Andy Scott. “She is one of the most brilliant natural jazz performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.” (Scott Barbarino - Iridium Director) 2009 kicked off with a second performance at the infamous New York Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway!!

From 8.00pm- 10:00pm -We’re very excited to have Atlanta Roots performing at this year’s Bands @ the Boot.  After years of honing their musical and song writing skills they have emerged as a top quality Blues Band drawing on a  wealth of experience gained from supporting/ performing with artists such as Eric Clapton, The Who, and 10cc to name but a few!

Sunday 30th August

From 1.00-3.00pm Kerri-Leigh Davies has made a big impression on the circuit  wowing audiences all over the North West with her fantastic range and powerful vocals. A diverse repertoire ensures Kerri Leigh can cater for all tastes, from current chart hits to old favourites.  Abba fans may also know Kerri as a vocalist for Abba tribute band –’Abba Fusion‘.

From 4:30 pm- This band are built around the talented Hayley Faye and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Lily Allen, Little Boots and (if she’s ever sober enough to care) Amy Winehouse looking over their shoulders with a knowing and worried look on their faces.   Now don’t get me wrong they don’t have the same sound as those ladies, but The Hayley Faye Band have a definite star in their ranks and with both Babysleepmode and Kings and Queens they have two killer tracks that marry off kilter indie to pop hooks to make an irresistible force that you won’t be able to escape from, they could well end up rubbing shoulders at the top table based on this. (Taken from a review on ‘Beat Surrender’ June 09)  This band, which I am personally really looking forward to hearing are new on the block, hence they will only be doing two 20 minute sets.

From 7:30 -9:30pm  Absolutely no introduction required….Electro 80’s are back!   Sure to be a full house –  get  here early to hear your favourite 80’s renditions.  If you have not seen this group before and you like 80’s music you are in for a real treat!  Hungry Like the  Wolf,  Fade to Grey,  Tainted Love ... our friends electric!  Whoop Whoop!

Monday 31st August

From 4.00-6.00pm  Bill Daison Band  Back by very, very popular demand!!  The band have been signed to play at selective Warner Blues weekend events throughout the UK in conjunction with Boogaloo Promotions after  the success of the album “Blues still Burning”. This success also secured the main slot at the Colne Blues Festival on the British stage in 2008 and many other UK Blues Festivals throughout the year.  The Band Line-up is Bill Daison, Chris Bevington, Ron Rolph and George Glover and it’s a great return for the Band for this Bank holiday event, don’t miss the chance to catch them.
